Beautiful handicrafts of Oku-Aizu and Aizu Paulownia - Weaving Plants and Trees -

The Oku-Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture is known as one of the snowiest areas in Japan, and has developed a lifestyle and culture unique to a snowy country.

Among these, the "technique of weaving plants" is a life wisdom that has been handed down since the ancient Jomon period as a handicraft to be used during the long, harsh winters.

In today's world where resin and synthetic fiber products are abundant, the Oku-Aizu region, which has long treasured and utilized natural materials, is attracting new attention.

The products on display this time include wild grape baskets that have aged beautifully, Hiroro handbags, and silver vine strainers.

We have put together a selection of products that will enrich our lives in the future, while also inspiring us to think back to the lives of our ancestors (the ancients).

We also offer daily necessities made using only Aizu paulownia wood, which is said to be of the highest quality in Japan, and utilizing the outstanding skills of Aizu chest of drawers craftsmen.

We would be delighted if we could convey the charm of Oku-Aizu to everyone who comes.
